Ingredients

2 : Loaves Frozen white Bread;

Directions

0: Dissolve yeast in water

1: Add sourdough starter

2: Mix in 1 cup flour

3: Let mixture set 12 hours or overnight to develop sponge

4: Stir sponge to dissolve crust

5: Add sugar, 2 eggs, butter, and salt; mix well

6: Add 2 1/2 cups flour to sponge; mix well

7: Pour 1 cup flour on kneading surface

8: Pour sponge mixture on flour

9: Cover with 1 cup flour

10: Knead until flour is worked into dough

11: Continue adding flour until stiff dough has formed

12: Knead dough 10 minutes or until folds form

13: Place in greased bowl

14: Grease top

15: Cover; let rise until doubled in size

16: Punch down dough

17: Knead 2 minutes

18: Divide dough into 2 equal balls; divide 1 ball into 8 equal parts

19: Roll 8 parts until approx

20: 12 inches long

21: Place these 8 strips side by side; braid by folding 1 strip over the other in numerical order

22: Tuck in edges

23: Prepare second dough ball in same manner

24: Place braids on greased cookie sheets

25: Cover; let rise until double in bulk

26: Brush braids with 2 eggs

27: Bake in preheated 350F oven 30 minutes or until golden brown

28: Remove from oven; brush with oil

29: Cool on rack

30: Yield: 2 loaves
