3 : 1/ c All-purpose flour; divided
1 : tb Baking powder
1/2 : ts Salt
3/4 : ts Ground nutmeg
1/4 : ts Ground cloves
1 : c Applesauce
3/4 : c Sugar
2 : Eggs
2 : tb Vegetable shortening
Vegetale : Vegetale oil
0: Drain apricots, reserving juice
1: Press apricots through sieve
2: Add enough reserved syrup or juice to make 1 cup; set aside
3: Cream sugar and shortening together until fluffy
4: Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition
5: Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture
6: Add apricots
7: Stir just until all ingredients are moistened
8: Stir in walnuts
9: Spoon batter into well greased loaf pan
10: Bake at 350 F
11: for 50 minutes or until bread tests done
12: Remove from pan and place on rack to cool
