1/2 : c Shortening

2 : c Sugar

2 : Egg; well beaten

2 : ts Vanilla

2 : c Cake flour, sifted

2 : ts Baking powder

1 : ts Salt

1 : /2 c Milk

1 : c Nuts; chopped

Directions

0: Preheat oven to 350F

1: Butter a large loaf pan

2: Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together

3: Cream the brown sugar together with the butter, then mix in the eggs

4: Thoroughly mix in the bananas and lemon juice, then mix in the flour mixture as quickly as possible

5: Fold in the chopped nuts, then pour into the prepared pan

6: Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean
