1/2 : ts Baking soda
3/4 : ts Salt
1/4 : c Cold butter
1 : Egg
2/3 : c Buttermilk
Milk : Milk for brushing tops
Sugar : Sugar for sprinkling
3 : c Flour
1/3 : c Sugar
2 : 1/ ts Baking powder
1/2 : ts Baking soda
3/4 : ts Salt
12 : tb Butter
1 : c Buttermilk
3/4 : c Currants
1 : ts Grated orange rind

0: Preheat oven to 425 degrees - makes 12 rolls
1: In 9-inch square pan, melt butter
2: Stir in 1/3 cup brown sugar and water
3: Set aside
4: In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
5: Add milk all at once, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened
6: Turn out onto well-floured surface
7: Roll out to a 12x10 inch rectangle
8: Combine 1/3 cup brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans
9: Sprinkle over dough
10: Roll up starting with 12-inch side
11: Cut into 1-inch slices; place cut-side down in prepared pan
12: Bake at 425 degrees for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown
13: Turn out immediately
