5 : lg Eggs; separated, at room
0: In saucepan combine gelatin, sugar, and water
1: Cook, stirring, at low heat to dissolve gelatin and sugar
2: Slowly add hot mixture to beaten egg yolks
3: Return to saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened, being careful not to let mixture boil
4: Cool slightly
5: Add rum
6: Chill until partially set, then whip until light in color and texture
7: Whip 1 cup cream to form soft peaks
8: Fold into egg mixture
9: Beat egg whites with dash of sugar and fold into egg yolk-cream mixture
10: Fold in chocolate chips
11: Mound in pie shell and chill until firm (about 4 hours)
12: Decorate with rest of whipped cream and extra chocolate chips
13: TIME DOES NOT INCLUDE CHILLING TO SERVE
