1/2 : c Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
1 : Large Egg
1/2 : c Unbleached Flour
1 : ts Baking Powder
1/3 : c Semisweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 : c Margarine Softened
1 : ts Vanilla
1/2 : c Rolled Oats
1/4 : ts Salt
1/4 : c Chopped Nuts
1 : /3 c Flour
2 : ts Vanilla
1 : pk (large) chocolate bits
1 : ts Baking powder
1 : ts Salt
1 : /3 c Sugar
1/2 : c Cooking oil
4 : Eggs
0: Preheat oven to 375 degrees
1: In a bowl stir together flour, salt, and baking soda
2: In another large bowl stir together butter, both sugars, eggs, vanilla and cocoa
3: Gradually stir flour mixture into butter mixture and mix until combined
4: Stir chocolate chips and walnuts, if using, and stir to distribute evenly
5: For Cookies: Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and bake about 10 minutes
6: Cool on a baking rack
7: For Bars: Pat dough into a greased 9 inch square baking pan and bake 20-25 minutes
