Ingredients

3 : tb (heaping) cocoa

3 : tb Cornstarch

1 : pn Salt

2 : c Milk

1 : ts Vanilla

3 : Eggs; separated

1/4 : Stick butter

1 : Baked pie shell

1 : c Sugar

1 : tb Flour

3 : tb Cocoa

1 : ds Salt

1 : /2 c Evaporated milk

1/2 : c Sweet milk

3 : Egg yolks

1 : tb Butter

1 : ts Vanilla

1 : Baked pie shell

3/4 : c Sugar

5 : 1/2 oz Hershey's chocolate syrup

Directions

0: Preheat oven to 375 degrees

1: In a lg bowl, stir together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt

2: Cut the butter into 1/2-inch cubes and distribute them over the flour mixture

3: With a pastry blender or two knives used scissors fashion, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs

4: In a sm bowl, stir together the peanut butter mixture to the flour mixture and knead until combined

5: Knead in the peanuts

6: Pat the dough out into a 1/2-inch thickness on a cutting board

7: Using a floured 2-1/2 in

8: to 3-in

9: diameter crinkled round biscuit cutter, cut out rounds from the dough

10: Gather the scraps togvether and repeat until all the dough is used and there are 16 round

11: Place 8 of the rounds on an ungreased baking sheet

12: Top each round with a piece of the chocolate and one of the remaining circles of dough

13: Press the edges gently to seal

14: Bake for 17-19 minutes, or until lightly browned

15: Remove the baking sheet to a wire rack and cool 5 minutes

16: Using a spatula, transfer the scones to the wire rack to cool

17: Serve warm or cool completely and store in an airtight container

18: VARIATION (Randy's Preference): Make the dough as above, omitting bittersweet chocolate, substituting 1/2 c unsalted peanuts for the chopped peanuts and kneading in 3/4 c semisweet chocolate chips at the same time

19: Put the dough into a 9-inch diameter circle on a baking sheet

20: With a serrated knife, cut into 8 wedges

21: Bake 20-22 minutes, or until a cake tested or toothpick inserted into the center of a scone comes out clean
