0: Preheat oven 350F
1: Spray 8-1/2 x x 4-1/2 inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray
2: TO PREPARE BREAD, in medium saucepan, combine dates, water, molasses and candies
3: Cook over medium heat until mixture boils, stirring constantly
4: Stir in 1/2 cup apple sauce; let cool 15 minutes
5: Stir in egg whites
6: In large bowl, combine flour, bran, 1 tablespoon cinnmon, baking soda and baking powder
7: Stir apple sauce mixture into flour mixture just until moistened
8: Spread batter into prepared pan
9: TO PREPARE TOPPING, in small bowl, combine 1/4 cup apple sauce and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
10: Spread evenly over top of batter
11: Sprinkle walnuts over top
12: Bake 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
13: Cool in pan 10 minutes
14: Invert onto wire rack; turn right side up
15: Cool completely
