0: Heat oven to 350 F

1: Grease bottom only of 9x5x3-inch loaf pan

2: In large mixer bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg

3: Add shortening, eggs and applesauce; beat just until blended

4: Stir in pecans

5: Spoon mixture into prepared pan

6: Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean

7: Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack

8: Cool completely

9: Prepare VANILLA GLAZE; drizzle over bread

10: 1 loaf (14 servings)

11: VANILLA GLAZE: In small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 3 to 4 teaspoons milk

12: About 1/4 cup glaze
