0: Preheat oven to 400F
1: Spray 8 inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray
2: In large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt
3: In small bowl, combine milk, egg whites, and apple sauce
4: Stir apple sauce mixture into flour mixture just until moistened
5: Spread batter into prepared pan
6: Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
7: Cut into 9 squares; serve warm
