Ingredients

3 : lg -or-

4 : sm Grapefruits

2 : tb Fresh thyme leaves

1/2 : c Dry white wine

1/4 : c Honey

4 : lg Pink grapefruit

2 : 1/ c Sugar

4 : c Water

2 : Egg whites; beat into foam

1 : c Iced kirsch (2 hrs. in

16 : 1/2 lb GRAPE FRESH

1 : /2 lb Grapes, ripe

1/3 : c Sugar

2 : 1/ c Grappa OR

2 : 1/ c Brandy

1 : lb Fresh beans (green or wax

-or : -or a combination of both)

1/4 : c Water

Directions

0: Cut lard into flour, powder and salt completely

1: Sprinkle in water, 1 Tbls

2: at a time, tossing with fork until all flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl

3: Gather dough into ball

4: Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes

5: Heat oil (1-2") to 400 degrees

6: Roll dough on lightly floured surface into rectangle, 12x10

7: Cut into rectangles, 3x2

8: Fry 3-4 at a time until puffed and golden, turning once, 2 minutes
