2 : tb Butter or margarine; room
0: Grease 13"X9" pan or 2 8 " or 9" square pans
1: Boil water, stir in oats remove from heat stir in butter
2: Cool to 120-130 degrees
3: Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar,salt, and yeast
4: Blend well
5: Add oat mixture and egg
6: Blend until moist, beat 3 minutes @ medium speed
7: Stir in flour to make stiff dough
8: Knead until smooth (5 minutes) Shape into ball and let rest 10 minutes
9: Punch down, press into pan or pans
10: Cut diagonal lines 1 1/2" apart
11: Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until double (about 45 minutes) Combine parmesan cheese, basil and oregano
12: Brush bread with 4 tablepoons melted butter
13: Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes
14: Brush with 2 tablespoons melted butter and sprinkle with herb/parmesan mixture
15: Bake another 15 minutes
16: NOTES : Bread may be made one day, refrigerated overnight and baked the following day
