Directions

0: Warm milk, sugar, salt, and shortening in microwave for 1-2 min

1: Let cool

2: Shortening need not be melted

3: Set aside

4: Put 2 cups flour in bowl

5: Add yeast, egg and liquid ingredients

6: Using electric mixer, beat well

7: Add flour, 1/2 c at a time until mixer can no longer turn

8: Then stir with wooden spoon

9: Let dough rest 15 mins on floured board

10: Knead 15-20 times

11: Coat dough by rolling in butter-greased bowl

12: Cover and refrigerate until ready to use

13: On floured board, knead 10 times

14: Make balls

15: Place in greased pan

16: Let rise 1-2 hrs or until dough doubles

17: Bake at 400 for 10-15 mins or until golden brown

18: Remove from oven, butter top of rolls

19: Serve hot
