0: Cream the butter and sugar together, then add the lemon rind and the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each is added
1: Stir in the lemon juice, then sift in the dry ingredients gradually
2: Beat well after each addition until you have a light workable batter
3: Pout into a buttered and floured 8-1/2 X 4-1/2 X 2-1/2-inch bread pan and bake at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes
4: Turn out on a rack to cool
5: Do not slice until the next day
6: NOTES : Serve with butter and preserves as a tea bread
