Ingredients

Directions

0: Mix hot water and syrup

1: Sprinkle yeast into water and let "proof" while preparing onions

2: Saute onions in oil until golden, 5-7 minutes, sitrring frequently

3: Stir in yeast mixture, then all of the remaining ingredients

4: Knead 5-8 minutes; place in greased, covered bowl and let rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours

5: Punch down

6: Divide into 18 balls and flatten each ball to a 4-inch circle

7: Place on lightly greased pans

8: Let rise 1 hour

9: Preheat oven to 375 degrees

10: Lightly brush tops with oil and sprinkle with seeds, if desired

11: Bake 20-30 minutes
