1/4 : c Onion; minced
1/4 : c Green pepper; minced
0: Into large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
1: With pastry blender, cut in shortening until coarse crumbs form
2: Stir in cheese and celery seed; set aside
3: In small bowl, mix milk and eggs until well blended
4: Add milk mixture to dry ingredients; stir just until moistened
5: Pour batter into greased and waxed paper-lined 9x5x3 loaf pan
6: Bake in 350 degree oven 50 to 60 minutes, or until loaf is golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
7: Cool in pan 10 minutes
8: Remove; peel off waxed paper
9: Cool on rack
10: Makes 1 loaf
