2 : tb Instant coffee
1 : pt Whipping cream
3 : tb Water
Brandy : Brandy to taste
Shaved : Shaved chocolate
2 : c Sugar
2 : Eggs well beaten
1 : c Milk or water
1 : ts Nutmeg
1 : c Butter
1 : ts Baking powder
1/2 : ts Salt
Flour : Flour enough to stiffen
Dough : Dough for easy rolling
1 : qt Heavy cream
2 : 1/4 c Cake flour
2 : ts Baking powder
1 : c Butter; softened
8 : oz Cream cheese; softened
1 : /2 c Sugar
4 : lg Eggs
1 : ts Vanilla extract
1 : ts Lemon rind; grated
2 : tb Rum OR brandy OR cognac
0: Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl
1: Stir in milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and 3 1/2 cups of the flour
2: Beat until smooth
3: Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle
4: Turn onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes
5: Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up
6: Cover; let rise in warm place until double, 1 to 1 1/2 hours
7: Grease 2 loaf pans, 9x593 inches
8: Punch dough down; divide into halves
9: Roll each into rectangle 18x9 inches
10: Roll up, beginning at 9-inch side; press ends to seal
11: Fold ends under
12: Place seam side down in pan
13: Cover; let rise until double, 1 hour
14: Place oven rack in lowest position
15: Heat oven to 425øF
16: Bake until loaves sound hollow when tapped, 25 to 30 minutes
