1 : pt Heavy cream
1/2 : ts Salt
1 : Vanilla bean
3/4 : c Long-grained rice
1 : c Granulated sugar
1 : Egg yolk
1 : /2 c Whipped cream
Raisins : Raisins (optional)
0: Preheat oven to 400 degrees
1: Grease a baking sheet
2: Sift flour with baking powder and salt
3: Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal
4: Stir in currants and add enough milk to make a soft dough
5: Roll out dough on a floured surface to a 1/2-inch thickness
6: Cut out 2-inch circles with a biscuit cutter or glass, and place on a baking sheet
7: Bake for 15 minutes, or until well-risen and lightly browned
8: Serve hot, sliced crosswise, with butter and jam
