Ingredients

6 : c Whole wheat bread flour

Directions

0: Heat oven to 350

1: Cream shortening & sugar until fluffy

2: Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition

3: Sift dry ingredients together; add 1/3 to egg mixture followed by 1/3 of the milk; beat well

4: Repeat twice more

5: Fold in lemon rind &, if desired, the nuts

6: Spoon into a mell greased, 9X5X3" loaf pan; bake 45-55 minutes or until loaf springs back when lightly touched

7: Meanwhile, combine glaze ingredients, mixing well

8: As soon as the bread comes out of the oven spoon glaze evenly over loaf

9: Cool to room temp before removing from pan & slicing
