Apricot-Almond Shortbread Bars recipe

Ingredients

3 : 1/ c All-purpose flour; divided

1 : tb Baking powder

1/2 : ts Salt

3/4 : ts Ground nutmeg

1/4 : ts Ground cloves

1 : c Applesauce

3/4 : c Sugar

2 : Eggs

2 : tb Vegetable shortening

Vegetale : Vegetale oil

Directions

0: Preheat oven to 350

1: Beat butter and sugar until fluffy

2: Beat in egg yolks and vanilla and almond extracts

3: Mix in flour until the mixture forms a soft dough

4: Divide dough in half

5: Press one half into a 15 x 10 jelly roll pan

6: Spread evenly with jam

7: Cover completely with remaining dough (flatten pieces with hands and patch on top of jam)

8: Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown
