Ingredients

2 : c Flour

2 : Tb brandy

1 : c Sugar

1/2 : ts Salt

1/2 : lb Butter or margerine

1 : ts Baking powder

3 : Eggs

2 : To 3lb hrtnng .milk

Powdered : Powdered sugar

1 : md Yellow squash, diced

4 : Shallots, with tops, chopped

1 : qt Water

2 : tb Maple syrup

5 : sl Cucumber (1/2" thick)

1 : tb Salt

1/4 : ts Black pepper

Directions

0: Stir honey into warm water

1: Sprinkle yeast onto water and let stand 5 to 10 minutes

2: Add salt, milk, and herbs and blend well

3: Sift in half of flours and stir

4: Add part of the remaining flours (according to the coarseness of the flour more or less than 5 cups (1

5: 21) may be needed)

6: Knead 5 to 10 minutes

7: Dough should be elastic

8: Allow to rise in oiled bowl until doubled in volume

9: knead again, shape into two loaves and place in oiled bread pans to rise again until double in size

10: Bake at 350 (177C) 45 to 55 minutes
