Plain White Bread (Powdered Milk) recipe

Ingredients

4 : Pitas

1 : Egg white

Various : Various spices

2 : x Pita breads (6" diameter)

2 : ts Margarine

2 : ts Oregano

4 : tb Grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

0: Combine water and sugar in large bowl

1: Sprinkle yeast over mixture and let stand 10 minutes

2: Add powdered milk, sugar, salt, shortening, and 3 cups flour

3: Beat til smooth

4: Then add enough of the remaining 3 cups flour to make a soft dough

5: Turn out on a floured board and let rest 5 minutes

6: Knead until smooth using only enough flour to keep from sticking to board

7: Put into greased bowl, turning once to coat

8: Place in slightly warmed oven (turn on for count of 30 to 60, turn off) and let rise til doubled - about 1 hour

9: Turn out onto floured board

10: Divide for loaves, roll out into rectangle, then roll up again, tightly

11: Place in greased loaf pans, tucking ends under

12: Let rise in warm oven again for 3/4 hour until doubled in size

13: Bake at 400F for 40 to 50 minutes til brown, cool on wire rack, enjoy
