Ingredients

1 : tb Paprika

1 : tb Ground black pepper

1 : tb Salt

1 : ts Garlic powder

1 : c Prepared yellow mustard

1 : c Packed brown sugar

1/2 : c White vinegar

6 : Granny Smith apples, cored,

-peeled, : -peeled, and sliced thin (up

-to : -to 8)

1 : tb Lemon juice

1/2 : c Granulated sugar

1/4 : c Brown sugar, packed

1 : ts Cinnamon

1/4 : ts Nutmeg

3 : tb Flour

Directions

0: Cut lard into flour

1: Stir in buttermilk, being careful not to overmix

2: The dough should be fairly wet & sticky

3: Sprinkle extra flour over the dough in the bowl to keep dough from sticking to your hands

4: Form rough lumpy biscuits with your hands

5: Grab a lump of dough - about the size of a lemon? - & quickly pat it into a rough biscuit about 3 inches in diameter & about 1/2-3/4 inches thick by bouncing it back & forth lightly between your hands

6: Do not handle dough any longer than absolutely necessary

7: Repeat, sprinkling more flour over dough as necessary

8: You will get 12 largish biscuits from this recipe if you do it right

9: Place biscuits side by side on baking sheet - they should be touching

10: They should fill up a jelly roll pan

11: Bake at 450F for 15 - 20 min
