4: Peel the plantain
5: Cut lengthwise into 2 pieces or crosswise into serving size portions
6: Melt some butter in a frying pan
7: Lightly fry until slightly browned
8: Place in a buttered dish
9: Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon
10: Dot with butter
11: Place in a 350 degree oven and bake until tender about 30 minutes
12: Variation: After browning the plantains, place in squares of aluminum foil
13: Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter
14: Seal the foil and bake in 350 degree oven about 30 minutes
